The Widow “Misses” Her Villainous Late Husband

Chapter 126

Chapter 126

Maybe Yu Duo barged in too suddenly during a moment when the mood was very intense, because the tense atmosphere in the study calmed down, and there was even an inexplicable feeling of embarrassment in the air.

Behind his desk, Fu Sinian’s face was gloomy. His brows were furrowed and his eyes were full of something dark and heavy.

On the other hand, Ah Chi, who was kneeling in front of the desk, stared at Yu Duo in a daze, as if he was struggling to process the meaning of her words.

As she looked at the silent Fu Sinian and Ah Chi, Yu Duo subconsciously reflected on what she had said just now.

Had she said something wrong?

But, after thinking about it, she couldn’t find a problem.

Ever since she had met Fu Sinian on the plane yesterday, Yu Duo knew that all of her plans had capsized in the sewer and that there was no way she could escape. After that, she had gone to the hospital for an examination and, in front of Fu Sinian, the doctor had told her that she was three months pregnant. After that revelation she had very much wanted to find a chance to call Ah Chi but, unfortunately, Fu Sinian had been by her side the entire time so she never had an opportunity to call and warn Ah Chi.

Once they got back to the Fu residence, the first thing she had done was gone to her room and tried to get in touch with Ah Chi but his phone was busy when she called. Then she was about to send a message to remind him when suddenly Auntie Lian had appeared because she had found out the news about her pregnancy.

Just when she was feeling very anxious, she heard the sound of brisk footsteps from downstairs. When she heard that, she guessed that Ah Chi had come back, and made up an excuse to escape from Auntie Lian before going over to eavesdrop outside the study. She was caught off guard when she heard the words of ‘sincerity’ from Ah Chi.

Sometimes Yu Duo really wondered if there was something wrong with Ah Chi’s brain.

It’s enough that he dared to do it, but he also dared to say such a thing in front of Fu Sinian?

It was too fearless. Did he want to die?

“Three… three months?”

Ah Chi looked at Yu Duo blankly.

Yu Duo looked at Ah Chi nervously and said, “That’s right, Sinian and I went to the hospital for an examination today and we found out that I was three months pregnant.”

“Really?”

“Would I lie to you?” Yu Duo said, “You can ask your Big Brother if you don’t believe me.”

Ah Chi finally seemed to come back to his senses.

If she was three months pregnant it meant that the baby in his sister-in-law’s belly definitely belonged to his Big Brother.

His dazed and confused face finally revealed a smile.

In other words, his sister-in-law had not been…

When he thought to this point, Ah Chi only felt as if all the taut muscles in his body had relaxed in an instant, as if there had been a huge stone pressing down on his heart that was suddenly annihilated in a flash.

Fu Sinian quietly watched the two of them from the side without moving a muscle.

Did there two people in front of him think that he couldn’t tell that they were playing tricks and hiding something from him?

However, Fu Sinian didn’t intend to question them about it now, instead he just asked, “Didn’t you go to rest in your room?”

Yu Duo walked over to Fu Sinian and said, “I happened to pass by the door of the study and heard what you two were arguing about. Ah Chi has been by your side for so many years, don’t you trust him? Is there anything that you two can’t sit down and talk about properly?”

With that, Yu Duo looked over at Ah Chi and sent him a surreptitious wink. “What were you two talking about anyway?”

Fu Sinian snorted coldly, and a theory about what had happened slowly formed in the bottom of his heart.

Before he had noticed that Ah Chi had been delaying the matter regarding Yu Duo’s medical examination results, so now it seemed that Ah Chi had already known about Yu Duo’s pregnancy. He had been missing for three months and Yu Duo was two months pregnant, so Ah Chi must have naturally thought that the child belonged to someone else. The real surprise was that, when questioned, Ah Chi would dare to bear all the crimes on himself for Yu Duo.

Ah Chi slowly lowered his head and didn’t dare to speak.

“It’s nothing. You should go back and rest first.”

“I’m fine, don’t worry so much. I’m only three months pregnant, not eight months. But if you guys have something to talk about I’ll leave you two alone. I’ll go first.”

By repeatedly emphasizing the words ‘three months’ Yu Duo really hoped that Ah Chi would take the hint and not do anything else as impulsive as he had just now.

“Madam? Madam, where are you?” From outside the door Auntie Lian’s voice sounded.

Yu Duo said hurriedly, “It seems Auntie Lian is looking for me.”

Suddenly, the door of the study was pushed open and Auntie Lian stood outside. She looked inside, saw Ah Chi on his knees and was stunned for a moment, but then fixed her eyes on Yu Duo and said. “Madam, the soup I made for you is ready, do you want to come down and eat?”

“Alright, I’ll be right there.” Yu Duo took this opportunity to flee the study.

As soon as Yu Duo left, the atmosphere in the study suddenly became heavy.

Fu Sinian looked at Ah Chi and said, “Get up.”

Ah Chi slowly climbed to his feet.

“You’ve been by my side for five or six years now,” Fu Sinian stared at Ah Chi and spoke slowly. “You’ve done a lot for the company these years and, as your Big Brother, I won’t treat you badly.”

He understood what Ah Chi was thinking, but he couldn’t just let this go.

Ah Chi had been following him all these years. When they met, Ah Chi had been a young boy who had just entered the city and knew nothing and, like a piece of white paper, that boy had been colored by his time following Fu Sinian. He knew that his methods and preferences had a profound impact on Ah Chi.

But Ah Chi could no longer be allowed to live here.

He took out a key from his desk drawer and handed it to Ah Chi. “This key is to a house in Deep Water Bay. Find some time and move there.”

Ah Chi stared at the key in his hands and his eyes grew hot. He lowered his head and said with shame, “Big Brother, I have my own savings, I… I can buy my own house. Rest assured, I’ll move out as soon as possible. “

“Just take it as a wedding present your Big Brother is giving you in advance. You’re already not young anymore. It’s time for you to find a woman to marry and have children with. It’s no good if you’re always alone.”

Ah Chi didn’t retort.

He was aware that he couldn’t live here anymore, that he wasn’t fit to.

But what made Ah Chi feel so uncomfortable was that his Big Brother had seen through his inappropriate thoughts, but still treated him as a brother.

Ah Chi slowly left the study and went to the room that Fu Sinian had arranged for him to pack up his things.

At the foot of the staircase, Auntie Lian saw him.

“Ah Chi, what… what’s the matter?”

When Ah Chi heard Auntie Lian’s question, he smiled and said, “I’m just packing up my things. I’m going to move out.”

“Move out?” Auntie Lian thought of what she had just seen in the study and worriedly asked, “Did the sir…”

Ah Chi frowned, “No, I just decided I want to move out. Thank you for taking care of me these past years.”

When she heard this, Auntie Lian realized that something must have happened, but she didn’t ask any more questions. She just furrowed her brows and sighed.
