Truth Of The Forgotten Age

2-10: First Delve III

The group was at it again. Killing whatever monsters came their way to gain experience.

"Tisha, please tell me this floor has more than just bugs..." Cassidy whined with a shiver.

"It also has low level spiders and the occasionally rare low level Gnoll. Of course, we could try searching for the boss room. Though, the boss changes as often as the floor's layout." Tisha answered, leaning against the wall.

"Spiders? Seriously? Ugh... who made this dungeon? A psychological torturer?"

"Not to mention that the spiders give about the same experience. So, if you want to get out of here quicker, we would need to either find those Gnolls, or find that boss." Aviris suggested.

"Are we even ready to take on a floor boss? I'm barely a quarter the way to leveling, and we've been here for a while..." Veronica responded, wiping away the sweat from her brow.

"Veronica has a point. The bosses are usually five times stronger than the average enemies, at least. We should level up to three before we try. Just to be safe." Eleanora added, giving light healing to Aviris.

"Then, we have a lot of time on our hands. So, who was next for revealing all your juicy secrets~?" Cassidy asked seductively, as if she were trying to dig up dirt on someone by playing nice.

"I guess I'll go." Aviris offered. "Common rogue type class, Ranger. I've got more passive abilities than active, though I guess it makes sense. I have Shadow, which gives me a natural stealth bonus, which also heavily increases in dark areas. Ten sneak attacks to level it up. I've also got Two Weapon Fighting, which allows me to dual wield weapons with ease, while also keeping it practical. Just defeating enemies while dual wielding levels it up, so I've already gotten that leveled twice since we've entered. And finally, I have marksman. The higher it is, the easier it is to use stronger bows, and I get natural skill with them. However, I don't really care much about using bows. So that ability isn't important to me. And... all that leaves is Eleanora, right?" Aviris finished explaining and nodded towars the princess that finished healing her scratches.

"Yes, I suppose so. My class is the Arch Cleric, an advanced version of the normal Cleric class. Arch Cleric specializes more in frontlines combat and providing strong buffs, though Arch Clerics can still provide healing, however, not as much as priests and priestesses. Anyway, I've got Duelist, which gives me a focused bonus whenever I use specialized weapons, like rapiers, estocs, and similar common dueling weapons. Offensive Buffs, at the moment allows be to give a small boost to the physical and magical attack power of any given target for a short time. Support Buffs is basically the same. Short term buff to supportive stats, like your defense or speed. And, of course, I can't be a Cleric without Healing and Purification. I can currently heal small wounds, and purify minor curses. That's just about it. All the challenges are basically the same. Use ability so many times to level it." She answered, placing a hand on her hip.

"So we have a healer, a rogue, a mage and a fighter. That's pretty balanced if you ask me. What about you, Tisha?" Cassidy wondered.

"It'd take too long to explain. In short, fighter based class. I've maxed out all my abilities, and it takes way too long to gain any noticeable dent in my experience nowadays." Tisha answered coldly.

"Okay... well, anyways, we've got down all of our classes. What uh... what else do we talk about?"

"I've got nothing." Aviris said, stabbing down on a monster.

"Nor I." Eleanora was the same.

"Ver? You got anything?" Cassidy asked, throwing a ball of fire at a monster.

"Nope. Though, I do wonder if there is a quicker way to gain experience than just wandering around and killing every bug that comes our way. We aren't ready for a boss, so that's out if the question..."

"You can do it. The boss won't stand a chance against you." A familiar voice echoed inside Veronica's head.

What? That was... the woman in my dream... so... Lilith? I... I guess we could take on the boss. Tisha is with us after all.

With a sigh, Veronica had silently decided that they would go boss hunting. How long it would to find one, Veronica didn't know. What she did know, was that Lilith believes that she could easily go toe-to-toe with it.

And so, the group continued on, unknowingly going towards what they agreed may have been to hard for them.
