Wizard World:Struggles of dimensions

Chapter 85

85 Trap

Quickly moving sideways Layton dodged the claw that swiped towards his head Layton, immediately after he quickly leaned forward dodging the tail that had swept towards him closely following the previous claw attack, the dragon kept swimming around Layton using its claws, teeth, tail and weight to attack, Layton had no choice but to keep on dodging he was finding it difficult to keep up with its attack, the speed of the dragon’s attack was significantly faster than Layton if not for his special perception he would have been caught not long ago.

Some minutes later Layton found himself dead in the middle of the coiled dragon, its long body was wrapped around his surrounding like an anaconda wrapping its prey and its menacing majestic head attacked from above its mouth wide open as he aimed to swallow its enemy, the dragon’s tail of course was not idle as it swept from underneath like a whip, lightning and howling winds were summoned by the dragons innate extraordinary characteristics, the wind and lightning surrounded the area making sure to leave Layton with no way to dodge without accepting damage.

Layton watched this scene quietly he had seen the signs earlier from the dragon previous movement he was surprised by the wisdom the dragon showed after all even if it was a creature created by Tang qi it was still a genuine legendary level creature.

Layton had been dodging for so long not only because of the dragons extraordinary strength but also because he was observing the dragon trying to understand its characteristics and trying to digest the insight he had gained from watching Tang qi soul split’s transformation as it became the dragon, and now after watching for a while he was finally ready to counterattack, Layton didn’t bother dodging but instead headed towards the dragons open jaws that were aimed at devouring him, a short wave radiated from Layton as he clenched his fist and hit the dragon lower jar, a loud boom sounded as the dragon’s was pushed some distance because of the punch, taking advantage of the open distance Layton leapt out of danger the punch hardly did any damage to the dragon apart from pushing it some distance away, the creature quickly swam in the air towards Layton again, Layton did not bother moving he kept still on the same spot now that he had collected enough information about the dragon its attack pattern and habits were clear, his insight into the future of their battle was one second faster and clearer which meant its speed and unnatural flexibility in the air like a fish in water did not matter that much anymore, twisting his body sideways he dodge the dragons claw and sent a round house kick to the dragons stomach, the force sent it away, as soon as it left bolts of lightning struck towards the ground, with minute simple steps Layton dodged all the attacks, his movements easy and free as if he was dancing, the dragon who saw this scene was furious and enraged, feeling its dignity was being challenged it roared and attacked once more with all its might, lightning claws, sharp teeth, flexible tails and crazy winds kept on enveloping Layton’s position as the creature attacked frantically but the dragons anger did nothing to change its situation.

Layton had already figured out its attack patterns and even when its pattern changed it was already too late as its movements were already significantly slower, with every attack Layton dodged and gave a hit of his own, his psionic strengthened his body and with the power his psionic granted to temporarily modify the information of his body he modified his body structure and information making his secrete a rubber-like substance so he was not affected by the little strands of lightning that were still in the air and he was not affected by the force of his collision on the dragon’s resistant scales.

Layton even had time to gaze towards Tang qi and Igor’s battle he could see that although Igor was exerting considerable pressure on Tang qi it was only temporary as it was obvious the qi practitioner was already becoming used to the existence of the domain which made him more resistant to the gravitational effect and spatial changes brought by Igor, In fact, Layton with his perverted perception could see that Tang qi was already beginning to use his domain to cancel the gravity around him, he was using his domain to create a water cycle drastically reducing the effects of Igor’s attacks, Tang qi domain directly restrained Igor’s superpower the same way the dragon he was facing right now restrained him, the dragon’s body was tough its scale unbelievably though its flesh was basically made up of water attributed qi and water molecules which reduced the impact of Layton’s attacks.

Tang qi split soul merged closely with the dragon making it hard for Layton to forcefully punch through its scales and modify its information making it crash as the soul would just change the affected part to qi eliminating the effect.

Layton knew this because he had closely watched the process in which the dragon was created, in fact Layton probably knew more of the dragon than Tang qi. Not only that although the dragon had no domain as it had been relinquished to his creator Tang qi, it still had considerable control of its surroundings like all legendary life had, this control made it move smoothly in the air, treating the air as if it was water and itself a fish coupled with its natural serpentine body these all gave it unnatural flexibility and speed allowing it to make bizarre movement and attacks which troubled Layton at the beginning until he was finally comfortable with its patterns of attack.

Since understanding that he couldn’t attack in his normal way Layton had decided to use a subtler way of attack starting directly from the soul split that made up the soul of the dragon.

.....

“it’s started” Layton murmured to himself, the dragon itself didn’t notice because of its natural lack of a complete soul but its soul was gradually freezing as Layton psionic exerted its power, unknown to the dragons its soul was soon covered with frost and this reflected on its body as its thinking speed slowed down dramatically and its body movement becoming slower and slower.
