YIN-YANG DEVOURER

Meeting the mysterious woman (35)

While the days passed peacefully for Ruvan and his group, in the middle of the night on one of the City walls a conversation took place between two powerful cultivators that would shake the sky if they wanted to.

"I see you're still watching him from the shadows" Said an old man with a homeless look. A huge wine gourd hung from his back. His unkempt appearance would make anyone underestimate him without knowing that they were talking to an expert unparalleled in this part of the world.

"I never imagined that there would be a Sky Realm cultivator residing in a place as barren and remote as the Marxus Continent," Said a female voice belonging to a woman who was completely covered in silk clothing. Only her beautiful green eyes were visible.

Naturally the homeless looking man was Jonah who had finally decided to go confront the mysterious woman in order to find out her intentions towards Ruvan. Although he didn't feel any killing intent coming from that woman that didn't mean he was going to act unprepared.

"I have my own business why I live here…" Jonah responded nonchalantly.

"And may I know what you also do in a place as remote and stylish as this? I can tell at a glance that someone of your importance should not be in a place like this unless something or 'someone' has attracted you here" Jonah said referring to the word 'Someone'

The woman did not seem surprised to have been discovered and simply responded with a question.

"Are you that boy's Master?" The woman asked curiously, after all that would be the only possible explanation why such an outstanding boy like Ruvan existed in a place like this.

"His Master? That boy dreams of being my apprentice hahahaha" Jonah laughed for a few minutes before returning to the serious attitude he had at the beginning of the conversation.

"You can say that I owe that boy a favor, so naturally I won't let anything bad happen to him" Jonah said as he revealed a bit of his aura as a Sky Realm Cultivator.

The woman, for her part, also released her aura to defend herself from Jonah. Both had a slight exchange while giving small proofs of the other's power.

'Mmm, this woman is quite powerful, although it is evident that she is seriously injured' Jonah thought as he studied the mysterious woman in front of him.

'Hmm this Elder must undoubtedly be a quite renowned wandering cultivator. His power is not something that anyone can underestimate' The veiled woman made her guess before reducing her aura as a sign of good faith.

Jonah did the same and finally they both fell silent until the veiled woman opened her mouth.

"This boy has a condition that makes him quite special… I am here to see if I can take him as my apprentice" The veiled woman said with an indifferent tone.

"Mmm I see"

"Certainly the brat has quite a bit of potential but at the end of the day it is his own decision whether to accept your offer or not."

"The only thing I can tell you is that I will not allow you to force him to accept something he doesn't want" Jonah said seriously before jumping into the air. Anyone would have thought that he had jumped into the void, however a short time later he appeared again on top of a winged Ox.

"See you later, beautiful fairy."

"Come on Horatio! We have some beautiful girls to visit hahahaha" Jonah said goodbye as he headed to the red light district of the City.

The veiled woman shook her head as she lost the little respect she had for Jonah.

"I think it's time for me to introduce myself" The woman thought as she disappeared into the air.

She had spent almost a month silently observing Ruvan to understand a little about his potential as well as his personality. She had finally come to a conclusion and now the time had come to act.

Ruvan office.

Ruvan had finished an intense session with Lira so he was currently sitting at his desk with a relaxed look on his face as he read documents containing information about the mercenary group.

While Ruvan was concentrating, reading a voice brought him out of his stupor, making him alert.

"Good night" Said a woman completely covered from head to toe in silk robes. Only her beautiful green eyes were visible making her have a mysterious charm.

'Shit, when did she sneak in here... Forget it, if she was able to get in, I'm screwed,' Ruvan thought with a bitter smile as he prepared to take out a treasure that could save his life.

However, as he prepared to take measurements, a faint aroma of jasmine entered his nostrils, completely stopping his movements. It was a smell that brought back memories so he quickly opened his mouth.

"Are you the woman who saved me that day?"

"This young man wants to thank the eldest for her intervention on that day" Ruvan said as he bowed politely in front of the woman. Although he had means to deal with the grenade that did not mean that Ruvan was an ungrateful person.

"Get up. I simply acted out of interest" The woman said with a disinterested voice.

"Interest? Can I know why?" Ruvan asked with a serious look on his face. He had some ideas but nothing compared to hearing it from the woman's own mouth.

"I have been observing you for the last while and I have found many aspects of you quite interesting."

"It is for that reason that I would like to take you as my apprentice" The woman said with seriousness in her tone of voice.

"Wow… Although I admit that my talent is above average in this place, it shouldn't be a big deal compared to other celestial geniuses from other places" Ruvan said seriously.

His talent was very good in a desolate place like Marxus continent but this did not mean that it was something otherworldly in much more powerful places. A clear example of this was his own family which had young people with cultivation levels much higher than Ruvan's.

A gleam appeared in the woman's eyes before she answered Ruvan's question.

"That's not necessarily true..."

"There is something special about you" The veiled woman confirmed.

"And can you tell what is special about me?"

"Is it necessary to know?"

"For me, yes... After all, if we are going to be Master and apprentice, we should not have a secret between us" Ruvan said seriously.
