A Failure's hopeful Journey

You Xi Wang stood in front of the warning signboard. The words written on the board carried a vibe that made people believe them. You Xi Wang did not enter the room instantly but he told all his friends about the unexpected turn of events. The system spoke, [This whole thing feels a little weird.]

You Xi Wang raised his eyebrow and asked, "How?"

The system replied, [If I had a demon imprisoned then I would seal it in the dungeon and not the central control room.]

You Xi Wang pondered over this and found the explanation carrying a little logic behind it. He exhaled heavily and spoke, 'Let's go inside and see, what is the mystery of the Fallen High Elf King.'

The guns in his hands had always stayed in the same position. He raised his step and stepped inside the door. He carefully moved through without touching the warning board. The vigilant boy searched around and found a big cylindrical glass container standing in the center of the room. What shocked him was not the container but what it contained.

Inside the container, a naked figure was submerged with some sort of liquid. This figure was a male from the anatomy. You Xi Wang guessed that this person was the High Elf King mentioned in the warning signs. The system spoke, [It is a living entity. Another news. This thing is not natural.]

You Xi Wang was startled, he asked, 'You mean it is man-made.'

The system hummed in affirmation, with the skill to be able to scan the composition of almost anything and everything. It was a piece of cake to determine whether the thing inside the glass container was a natural entity or artificial. 

You Xi Wang spoke, 'Earlier you said that you cannot estimate the strength of this creature. Can you do it now?'

The system spoke, [It is not necessary now. This creature is only half alive. To be precise, it is creating a body for itself. The process is very long and still undergoing.]

You Xi Wang felt his brain was flooded with water and he was going insane. These facts that the system presented to him were all very surprising and shocking. How do you explain what he just found out. He did not waste time and spoke to Maya out loud, "Call over the Elven elders. I want to see how they react to this shit."

Maya appeared beside him in a blink and conveyed the message to the rest waiting outside. She suddenly glanced at the glass container and spoke, "Brother Xi Wang, this thing is extracting the spirit energy from the surroundings."

The rest of the spirit energy is discarded." he paused and looked at the structure of the glass container. He spoke again, "The discarded spirit energy is gathered under the lab. The accumulation over the years had made a spirit energy lake beneath this place."

Maya nodded like a human being. Just as they waited for the other to lead the elf leaders You Xi Wang and the system searched through the lab. You Xi Wang was studying the main console. The system located the defense control and asked, [I found the defense control panel.] it was about to put down all the defenses when You Xi Wang spoke.

"Switch the control to manual. Don't put it down completely." his voice was solemn. You Xi Wang spotted a manual lying on the administrative console. He gently picked it up. Let alone him even the system was astonished and exclaimed, [A real book?]

You Xi Wang nodded and opened the book after caressing the cover. The first page read. {This book is the belonging of the 30th High Elf King.}

You Xi Wang was surprised but he still turned the page. The second page described the origin of the king and how he started on the road to tech advancement followed by the early inventions. As the book continued the content became darker. Then after the first half, a diary entry about the elven council was made. It described the way the rest of the clans proposed the ban on technology advancement. 

You Xi Wang kept reading and found out that the rocky plain would have worked its way it should but the King did not listen to them and made another world-shaking proposal. They developed the rocky plain as per the proposal but when they all deployed it, the then crown prince was also researching how to strengthen the Elven bodies. He came up with the idea of compressing and collecting the impurities in the spirit energy to re-create a body for himself. The KIng was shocked to hear what his son proposed and rejected it without any hesitation. But who was to know that the crown prince would modify and connect a spirit liquid compressor and reverse engineer the machine for his use. 

He modified the machine in such a way that it would help him extract the impurities in the surrounding spirit energy while dumping the pure spirit liquid underground. This was done by two motives. One was to strengthen himself and dumping was to stop others from growing stronger. The king wrote at the end that the way to stop this creature from waking up he changed the rocky plain structure to slow down the absorption of the spirit energy. The high elves regretted their deeds and they committed suicide. The King wrote the last line in the book.

You Xi Wang sighed as he closed the book. A clear voice sounded behind him, "Xi Wang, what is going on?"

The voice startled the boy rather than make him relax. You Xi Wang reflexively raised his gun and retreated. The other people were surprised to see his exaggerated reaction. The boy found that it was Yuki who just spoke to him. He sighed and spoke, "I did not sense you all coming over and your voice startled me."

Yuki smiled and shook her head. She wanted to say something but the next moment her smile froze and her whole body shuddered. Her eyes were fixed to the glass container behind You Xi Wang. The rest of the people had a similar expression on their faces. The Elven leaders were also staring in disbelief. 

You Xi Wang spoke, "Yes, you are not dreaming. This thing is actually a body created by the High Elf crown prince in order to become stronger. This person was so cracked in his brains that he only preserved his consciousness and destroyed his original body before creating this one. At this moment he has created 75% of the body. He is missing, a heart, veins, lungs, and the brain except for the cerebrum cortex which carries his consciousness. The reason why he is alive is that he is extracting the impurities in the spirit energy as a source of his energy. He turned to face the glass container and shook his head with a sigh. You Zhichi came to his side and asked, "What is it?"

You Xi Wang spoke, "I thought it would be harder." everyone in the team dedicated an eye roll to him. You Xi Wang circled the glass container and found an inlet valve. He controlled his spirit energy and combined them into golden spirit energy wisps. The wisps entered the inlet valve. Under You Xi Wang's control, the wisps did not disperse and entered the glass container. The figure inside the glass container shuddered. You Xi Wang noticed this and smiled slyly. 

"Hehe... sensed your doom?"

The body inside started trembling more and more. The golden wisps were the natural enemy to impurities. They sensed that the body was impure and under the watchful eyes of the people inside the lab the golden wisps latched to the figure. They entered through the pores and started to corrode the body slowly. 

The High Elf Prince's impure body opened its eyes. The people inside the lab immediately took out their weapons. A hateful hoarse voice rang out through the lab. 

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? WHO ARE YOU?"

You Xi Wang spoke with a faint smile on his face, "Your death, Your Highness, the fallen king of High Elves." he controlled the wisps with his mind and the corrosion speed started to increase. The crown prince's body started screaming but in the end, it turned to nothing but ash. The only thing left from the body was a piece of the brain. You Xi Wang spoke to Ilex, "You can handle this chunk of meat, right?"

The queen of elves nodded and spoke, "Rest assured. We will do it the right way."

With that, the infiltration of the fort came to an end. Now You Xi Wang and the others focused on locating the spirit lake.
