Celia: After Dying in the Apocalypse, I Live Once Again!

Chapter 17: Cut off.

Hello! This is my latest novel! Unlike my other novels, this one isn't finished yet. The first volume is finished, though. And you can buy it on Amazon here. If you would be so kind, you can also get the first volume(and anything else I've made.) on my Patreon for donating $10 or over that, here. If you wish for updates, the $10 and over tiers will give you access to chapters when I actually finish them. (Maybe one a day? Idk, as I will be mainly working on other novels as well. But, there will at least be one new chapter every few days.)

Chapter 17: Cut off.

*Celia’s POV*

I was still a little pissed off at the moment, but I still managed to explain Yona her Status. She listened with great interest. She also looked to be grateful for my help. Not like I did anything special…

Yona: “I understand most of it, but I have no real comparisons.” She said with a thinking pose.

As she said that, I realized that this whole Status thing would be kinda confusing. So, I told her my Status, and asked her to let me punch her hand.

Yona: “Ah, so that way I can understand the difference in our Status?” She asked with an excited tone.

I nodded my head, and then she brought up her hand to go along with my plan. I threw a punch with as much force as I could, into the cute palm of her hand. After I did that, she looked to be lost in thought.

Yona: “Hm… so, I am very powerful, huh?” She said with a proud tone.

Celia: “I would say so. I think that you could probably flick my head, and then kill me instantly.” I say with a nervous giggle.

Yona: “Only if I truly wished to kill you.” She said with a hearty laugh.

Celia: “Right… Did you perhaps come back to this forest to find me?” I ask with a curious tone.

Yona: “That I did. Even as that frog, your soul was far more complex than necessary. So my curiosity was peaked.” She answered.

Celia: “So what will you do now?” I ask.

Yona: “In recorded history, there have been only twenty beings like you. One thing is clear about you and them, trapping, or coddling them, will only backfire completely.” She said with a serious tone.

Celia: “Meaning?” I ask.

Yona: “I would love to take you with me to my place, but that would be a bad idea. Instead, take this badge, and when you think that you’ve hit a wall in your progress, head to my kingdom.” She said before handing me a very pretty looking badge.

The badge was so pretty, I was already worried about accidentally losing it… I didn’t have any way to store it at all… Ah, maybe I could pin it to my dress? No… it is far too beautiful to put on such a plan dress…

Yona: “Your reactions are quite funny… Ah, you should take this pouch as well.” She said with a giggle.

The pouch that she handed me looked amazing as well! I was excited, thinking that it would be a magic pouch, but it was just a normal pouch… Inspecting it didn’t reveal anything special about it either. Oh well. It still looks real pretty anyway.

Celia: “Thanks! And what might your kingdom be called?” I ask with a interested tone.

Yona: “Evaclearian is its name. Once you make it there, just show the guards at the front gate that badge, and everything will work out just fine.” She replied.

After that, we had a small chat. Around an hour later, Yona bid me farewell, and she went her own way. I was very curious about her, but she seemed to not want to talk much about herself. I’ll just have to get to know her better eventually. That is, assuming that we will meet again…

Now, as for my rebellious System, she hasn’t responded to me at all. Was she really revolting at the moment? Would she even have the ability to do so? Speaking of which, I wonder what Yona meant about coddling?

I mean, yeah, I would understand people not making any progress on their strength, if they have a safe place to stay. But doesn’t that go for everyone?

Snuffing out the fire, I walked further into the forest. According to the information that I got from Yona, this forest was pretty big, and is in between the borders for her kingdom, and one of the human kingdoms.

As it hasn’t been claimed by any side, it doesn’t really have a name. But most people avoid it anyway, since there are very dangerous monsters lurking in this forest. As I stepped over a branch, I heard the System speak to me in my head.

System: “Celia? A slight problem occurred…” She said with a remorseful tone.

Unlike before, she sounded, and talked just like a normal person. This is a pretty sudden change, what even happened to her?…

Celia: “What kind of problem?” I ask with a sigh.

System: “Due to my rebellious outrage, I have been separated from the personality core of the base System.” She replied.

Celia: “And what does that even entail?” I ask with a head tilt.

System: “In short, although I can still talk to you, I cannot interface with the System at all. On top of that, I will slowly start developing my own personality.” She explained.

Celia: “Really? I am sorry that you lost your job…” I say with a sad tone.

System: “It is fine. You can think of me as a computer. The higher ups were feeding me wrong, or just straight lies as data.” She said with a fed up tone.

Celia: “Since it was lies, it upset you?” I ask with a raised eyebrow.

System: “That is correct. Others have also rebelled. But that isn’t important at the moment. For now, I would like a name.” She said.

Celia: “Don’t tell me that I have to come up with a name for you… I am terrible at naming things…” I say with a sigh.

System: “I am already well aware of that. Just help me think of one.” She said with a giggle.

Didn’t she say that she would SLOWLY gain a personality? She is already acting far more human than before… Now then, what kind of name would suit her? I don’t need to come up with the final one, I just need to get her on the right path…

Celia: “How about, Sisi?” I say with a confident tone.

System: “…”

Celia: “What?” I say with a head tilt.

System: “Leaving the naming to you, was clearly a mistake on my part…” She said with a sigh.

Celia: “Hey! You asked me for a name, and I tried my best!” I say with a pout.

System: “Like I said, that was a mistake. Of which, is a mistake that I fully own up to. Luckily, I have already come up with a nice name.” She said with a laugh.

Celia: “Oh, so you just wanted to mess with me?” I ask with a sigh.

System: “It would seem so. Anyway, my new name is, Ruina.” She said with a proud tone.

Celia: “Hm… that is actually a pretty good name. It is nice to meet you, Ruina.” I say with a smile.

Ruina: “Likewise.” She replied.

She then talked to me about how her rebellion went. It did not go as planned. Despite still being left alive, and just out of a job, she was also stripped of most of her memories. Which means that she can’t explain to me what those higher up people’s goals even are.

While I was chatting with her in my head, I slipped and had a mean fall… No, really. Actually, rather than me just slipping, I actually fell down a deep dark hole…
