Custom monster system

"Damnit sid You almost gave me a heart attack for a moment there you bastard!" the admiral said faux anger having realized he'd been pranked. He wasn't actually angry so much as just putting up a mean front to try and dissuade Alex from pranking him again. The admiral had witnessed Alex's fight with both zorah and nergigante and could tell that much like he had predicted so long ago Alex had become a powerful elder dragon. While it was easy to notice that Alex had an element it was equally easy to see that he was far more physical in his attacks preferring brute force and skill to elemental suppression.

After that spectacle the admiral took a good long minute to break down what a fight between Alex and a hunter would look like but the result he got was less than satisfactory. Nine times out of ten Alex would win the fights thanks to his intelligence nullifying the hunters greatest advantage while the last time was from a lucky killing blow from the hunter. Even in that situation Alex would still take the hunter down with him before he died making the fight technically a draw.

'Not much of a prank if you saw it coming now was it?' Alex teased in a good mood. For the longest time the admiral scared the shit out of Alex so being able to return the favor at least once was pretty cathartic. "Hmph , You might not be a runt anymore but don't go getting a big head if you don't want to get a beating." the man said sternly before grinning widely "it's good to see you sid , you've really grown into a fine monster." he said happily. 'Come on , let's go share the news of your return with the others.' Alex said before walking towards astera.

Alex found it suspicious that despite his interjection into the cutscene from the game delaying the admirals arrival for a small moment it still played out exactly the same as in the game. The admiral spilled his bag of energy rich crystals and came clean with his discovery about the elders recess. Alex surprised everyone by revealing that he had spotted the admiral watching them during the whole zorah fiasco but hadn't said anything because he didn't think it important. After that the admiral invited Zain and his handler to an expedition to the elders recess in the next few days.

During this time the admiral was filled in on the various things that had been going on from the two new monsters that Alex had discovered to the little variant rathalos living in astera. The particular piece of news that left the man the most dumbfounded however was the one explaining Alex's ability to adapt to outside stimuli. This knowledge gave the man an extremely ugly expression because as the list of known adaptations grew the lower and lower the possibility of a hunter winning against Alex went.

As it stood right now Alex was basically unbeatable for hunters unless he was bombarded with cannons which was harder than it sounded due to his intelligence making him not stupid enough to just stand there and take the hits. In the end the admiral could only sigh and accept that he should just be happy Alex was on their side. Meanwhile Alex was spending these last few days dealing with a problem that had popped up in the nearby ocean. A legiacris had apparently been spotted off the coast of the ancient forest by a hunter passing through that area.

The hunter likely wouldn't have even noticed it had it not been chasing a gastrone tuna near the surface causing a disturbance. As one of the most dangerous leviathan class monsters known for their ruthless attacking of boats Alex was given the task to get rid of it as the most powerful aquatic force in astera. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but Alex was having trouble finding the damn thing since it had apparently not decided where to settle yet. Every time Alex thought he got close to the thing it would turn out that it had vacated the area.
