I Don’t Want To Court Death!

Chapter 55: Him! My New Fiance!

In the silent meditation room, Yang Yang's student medallion vibrated slightly. Without opening his eyes, Yang Yang received the message sent to his student medallion.

"Young Sir Yang Yang, please report to the Palace of Elders. Elder Jade-Sword, Elder Yang-Phoenix, and the other elders of the legacy students wish to see you. Please arrive within an hour."

"What a pain." Yang Yang stood up and stretched. Then, he stared at his left arm. "Huh!?"

He brought it closer to his face and looked intensely at the thick red lines flowing through his arms. Before, the curse was only a circular mark on his wrist, but now, it entirely coated his left arm. The lines were thick like ribbons and appeared to overlapped as if they were wrapping his arm. Although the mark was significantly bigger, he neither felt pain nor any sense of danger from it.

Of course, that only alerted him even more. A curse that did not appear dangerous was the most insidious of all curses. His heart pounded as he though how could the curse have grown so much. He took note of this transformation, and changed into his legacy student robe.

"Be hidden." Yang Yang cast a Transformation Magic spell on his arm, but it was ineffective. Looking troubled, he flicked his interspatial ring and a long piece of black loincloth appeared. It reeked of pungent body odor.

The Flame of Purity wrapped around the loincloth and the smell disappeared. He then wrapped it around his left arm to fully cover the curse, but the ribbon-like lines still appeared on the surface.

"Screw it. I'll just be a trendsetter from now." He flicked his sleeve and puffed his chest, walking with confident strides. Outside the mansion, he took to the sky with his wings by using Aspect Fusion. Although he wanted to use his warship, they were forbidden from being used in the royal institute's territory without prior permission or a license. Along the way, he was noticed by some legacy students who were practicing their magic or relaxing with friends on the vast campus.

"Oi, oi, oi. Isn't that the guy who brought back Yang Che and the others? Those guys were missing for so long that I thought they were goners by now!"

"Wow! He's that Yang Yang? A Manifest Aspect magus below twenty years old? That's a rare feat, even in the legacy student campus. I think even the Sleeping Deity only achieved that level at seventeen years of age."

"My grandfather told me about that place and how dangerous the first five layers were. There were all sort of beasts and they hated anything that had the slightest evil intent. You'll get bombarded by them like rain during a storm. The fact they even lasted that long was a surprise."

"Heh. I even told them to not go in or else they'll get their asses handed to them in there. Now look what happened, a junior student went in to rescue them. Pfft!"

Yang Yang smiled at the comments. "Good to know that kids will never change. Always gossiping and bullying others. It reminds me of back then as well."

When he arrived at the Palace of Elders, he deactivated his Aspect Fusion and walked to the entrance. There were no guards in the Palace of Elders because there were many spell formations located here to destroy or attack anyone who dared to wildly charge into the palace. The detection spell formations here were also top-notched. Even if Yang Yang was a Wisdom King, he was not confident in being able to invade this place.

The Palace of Elders was an exquisite building with many hallways and rooms. The floor were made from mystical marbles and the walls were crafted from rare metals. Despite the gaudiness of the building, it expressed refined antiquity and exalted craftsmanship.

He followed the directions sent to his student medallion and found the hall he had to go through. At the end of the hall were seven elders and the seven legacy students. However, only two elders caught his interest: Elder Jade-Sword and Elder Yang-Phoenix.

The former was the uncle of Seventh Sister Jade. He was a handsome, refined, middle-aged man with long black hair and a gentle smile. On his back was a sword placed in a white sheathe. His clear eyes and righteous air made others trusted him as a man of integrity and virtue.

The latter was the father of Eldest Brother Yang, whose real name was Yang Che. Elder Yang-Phoenix was also a handsome, middle-aged man, but he appeared younger than Elder Jade-Sword. His hair was black-colored and eyes were brown-colored, much like his son, and seemed to be surrounded in an illusory flame that burned with the aura of life.

While the first man was the strongest elder present, the second man was actually a member of Yang Yang’s bloodline. In fact, Elder Yang-Phoenix knew that as well when his expression stiffen very slightly. Evidently, this elder was one of the few members of the House of Yang who knew Yang Yang's true identity.

"Greetings to the elders." He bowed down. "How may I help you today?"

"Greetings, Young Sir Yang,” said Elder Jade-Sword. “You see, we actually need you to clarify something for us. Are you-”

Seventh Sister Jade shot up from her chair. “There is nothing that needs to be clarified! Uncle, let’s break off the engagement!”

“Girl, sit down.” Elder Jade-Sword’s face was redden by Seventh Sister Jade’s statement. However, she continued to speak. “There’s nothing to be hesitant about! I’ll say it loud and clear: Yang Che had multiple affairs behind my back!”

The sound of gulping rang permeated throughout the hall. Looking surprised, Yang Yang said, “Huh? You mean about that? I thought everyone knew about that?”

Gasp! Several elders stood up with their student.

“My bad, Elder Jade-Sword, I just remembered that I had something to do.”

“Yes, indeed, me too. Let’s talk some time later.”

“Aiyah! I just remembered that I have to punish this brat of mine for missing my birthday. I need to go beat him like a pinata until he gives me the presents I want.”

They quickly bid their farewells and teleported away by warping the space around them. Even Elder Yang-Phoenix stood up. He glared at Yang Che with the intents to rip his son to shreds and whispered something to Yang Che. The latter’s face turned sour.

Elder Yang-Phoenix said, “My apologies, Brother Jade Jian. I need to go punish my son as well. I failed to raise him properly. Please give my regards to Brother Jade Zihao.”

Elder Jade-Sword nodded his grimly, but still maintained his gentle smile. Before Elder Yang-Phoenix teleported away with Yang Che, he took a deep, sidelong glance at Yang Yang.

Looking distressed, Elder Jade-Sword sighed. “Hah... What to do now?”

“Uncle, there’s no need to worry. I already have someone in mind for my engagement.” Seventh Sister Jade grabbed Yang Yang’s right arm and pulled him in close. “Him! I choose him as my new fiance!”

Elder Jade-Sword and Yang Yang looked at her incredulously. “Huh?”
