CHAPTER 317

Chapter 317: Divine Origin Points

There were indeed methods to further elevate Lu Ming’s talents and abilities to the next level.

Though challenging, it wasn’t considered an insurmountable task for a Divine Realm expert. Moreover, Lu Ming had a unique physique that could absorb the power of the void to strengthen his Void Realm, which immediately gave Jiu Han more options to explore.

“The simplest one is the Eternal Stone.”

The Eternal Stone, a special product of the Aeonians, contained powerful void energy. While it was a rare and valuable resource, it wasn’t of much consequence to Jiu Han.

After considering for a moment, Jiu Han settled on a solution. He nodded and said, “Let’s begin with this. Go back and rest for a day or two. Don’t focus on cultivation for now. Instead, observe where the Divine Origin within your body is flowing and how you might mobilize it. Without understanding this, we can’t discuss the third path.”

The third path involved using the Divine Origin with a non-divine body to become an Outer Dao God—a being that wasn’t a Divine Realm expert. Since no one had ever walked this path before, there were no precedents to follow.

The first issue was determining where the Divine Origin that Lu Ming had absorbed had gone and how to utilize it effectively.

In this matter, Jiu Han couldn’t assist Lu Ming. He had examined Lu Ming’s body several times but had found no answers. Therefore, Lu Ming would have to rely on himself.

Back in his small courtyard, Lu Ming sat cross-legged and entered the Void Space. There, he began to contemplate.

“Unlike Teacher Jiu Han, I do know where the Divine Origin went.”

It had gone to the system.

However, Lu Ming had no idea how to use the Divine Origin in a practical way. He opened his attribute panel and looked at the Divine Origin column.

The clear text caught his eye:

Divine Origin Points: 44

[Note: The essence of Divine Origin Points is the Divine Origin itself!]

[Note: The system has digitized the Divine Origin and made it applicable in the following ways:]

    1. Consume 1 Divine Origin Point to double all your attributes.
    2. Consume 1 Divine Origin Point to increase your level by one.
    3. Consume 1 Divine Origin Point to increase the proficiency of any skill by one level.
    4. Consume 1 Divine Origin Point to produce a beneficial evolution of any superpower. The direction of the evolution is uncontrollable, but the outcome will be positive.
    5. Unknown (Your level is insufficient).
    6. ...

The description of Divine Origin Points hadn’t changed. To unlock more options, Lu Ming needed to level up. However, he preferred to take his time and not rush into it.

“That said, the system offers four different uses for Divine Origin Points.”

Doubling all attributes, leveling up, increasing skill proficiency, and beneficial superpower evolution were all viable options. But none of these were what Lu Ming currently needed.

Jiu Han had made it clear that if Lu Ming wanted to become an Outer Dao God, he had to learn how to use the Divine Origin as a form of energy—similar to using origin energy—rather than relying on the system’s preset methods.

With a slow breath, Lu Ming closed his eyes and muttered, “So, what should I do?”

Just as the thought crossed his mind, he felt a slight tremor in his consciousness. His focus returned to the attribute panel, where a subtle change had appeared in the description of Divine Origin Points:

[5: Consume 1 Divine Origin Point to transform it into a trace of free-floating Divine Origin energy.]

[Note: This transformation is irreversible. Because you lack a divine body, the consumed Divine Origin cannot be naturally recovered. Use with caution.]

Lu Ming’s eyes brightened.

That was exactly what he had been looking for.

The 642nd day of the Black Mist Calendar. Morning.

Today was a class day. After breakfast, Lu Ming made his way to the small classroom.

When he entered, he saw Lin Feng already sitting at his desk, focused, like a diligent student eager for the lesson to begin.

Without exchanging greetings, Lu Ming took his seat. Lin Feng, however, leaned in with curiosity.

“Junior Brother, have you made any progress in the past two days?”

Lin Feng could barely contain his curiosity. He was desperate to know what kind of special training the old man Jiu Han had given Lu Ming over the last two days.

Lu Ming smiled. “I’ve made some progress.”

However, he didn’t elaborate.

Lin Feng thought for a moment and said, “By the way, Junior Brother, there’s a welcoming party on campus the day after tomorrow. Would you like to come and join me?”

Then Lin Feng gave Lu Ming a knowing grin. “The female classmates in this cohort are quite impressive.”

Lu Ming shook his head. “Women would only slow down my progress in becoming stronger.”

Lin Feng sighed.

He had already guessed what kind of person Lu Ming was—completely uninterested in beauty or distractions.

Still, he felt obliged to try. Perhaps he could persuade Lu Ming to join the festivities.

Just as Lin Feng began to dream up a plan, Jiu Han entered the room. The short, round man was wearing a long black coat today. With a book in one hand and a teaching stick in the other, he looked every bit the stereotypical scholar.

Jiu Han walked to the podium and said, “Today, we’ll be discussing the operating principles of origin power skills.”

This was a foundational course. Although it didn’t seem to have immediate practical value, it was essential for more advanced techniques.

An hour later, the morning class concluded. Jiu Han’s teacherly persona softened as he looked at his two disciples with warmth.

Turning to Lin Feng, he asked, “How’s your memorization coming along?”

“I’ve memorized about a third of the material,” Lin Feng replied respectfully.

“Hmm, not bad. Keep at it.”

That was Lin Feng’s cue to leave, and tactfully, he stood, bade farewell to his teacher and Lu Ming, and exited the classroom.

Now only Jiu Han and Lu Ming remained.

Jiu Han turned to Lu Ming and asked, “And what about you?”

“I’ve found a way to apply the Divine Origin,” Lu Ming replied.

Jiu Han instantly appeared in front of him. “You’ve found it?! Already?!”

Even Jiu Han hadn’t been able to pinpoint the method, but Lu Ming had managed it in just over a day.

Looking at his teacher, who was wide-eyed in surprise, Lu Ming smiled shyly. “Yes, but…”

A bitter expression crossed his face.

“Teacher, you should see for yourself.”

With that, Lu Ming extended his hand, and a faint golden light shimmered from his palm. However, the glow was unstable.

Jiu Han gasped. “That’s the Divine Origin! I’ve never seen a non-deity able to use it before…”

As he observed more closely, his brow furrowed.

“But why does it feel so…”

“It’s stiff,” Lu Ming said. “Very stiff.”

“I can sense its presence, and I can move it through my body, but…”

He paused for a moment.

“It’s almost beyond my control.”
