Mark of the Multiversal Pretender

Ch. 82 – Coronation Day! [4]

"Let us start our spar." Leo calmly said, assuming a normal stance, as if the fight hasn't started yet.

"Pfftt." On the sidelines, Anna couldn't hold her laugh and started chuckling softly, which was heard by Prince Hans who was shivering from sheer anger and embarrassment.

"You don't mind if I start first, Prince Hans? Considering my....disability. I'm sure you're kind enough to understand, right?" Leo looked straight ahead, still under the guise of being blind, all while asking.

"....S-sure...." Prince Hans stuttered, disbelief written all over this face.

'Did he just get lucky and dodged my strike? He was lucky, right?' Asking to himself yet having no answer, Prince Hans decided to leave the answer to Leo getting just lucky.

"Thank you." Leo smiled 'gratefully' before nodding his head.

Just as Prince Hans was about to nod in return, his vision suddenly met with a black stick heading his way.

Prince Hans could only react by widening his eyes before searing pain assaulted his entire face.

"Arrgh!" Groaning in pain, Prince Hans accidentally dropped his sword in the ground, which for some 'unknown' reason, Leo accidentally kicked aside.

"I think I just kicked something?" Leo perked his ears up and uttered.

'Is he serious or simply mocking me?' As he was fighting a blind person, Prince Hans was having a hard time differentiating whether Leo was serious in his words or just masking his mockery with it.

"I-I dropped my sword and you kicked it." Prince Hans said, too embarrassed about it. Aside from him, no other knight could drop their swords in the middle of a battle, and what's even worse is that his opponent is just a blind person.

Even Anna, who was in full support of him, got her mouth shut, not trying to cheer him anymore lest she might embarrass herself like Prince Hans.

Obviously, Prince Hans would notice her reaction, and he would be lying if he didn't say he's greatly mad at Leo for embarrassing him this far.

"I see." Leo nodded his head and said as if it was a normal thing.

"...."

"Should we resume now? I'll give you time to pick it up." Leo extended.

"Okay." Nodding his head, Prince Hans headed back to his sword and grabbed its hilt.

No matter what, he needs to take his dignity back.

Once again facing one another, this time, Prince Hans made sure to start the battle officially.

"Let's have a good fight, Sir Leo."

"You too." Surprised by Prince Hans's ability to hold down his anger despite everything he did to him, Leo smiled, intending to slowly break the Prince until Anna's 'feelings' for him fades.

Speaking of Anna, the little princess now starts to get bored of the duel and unknown to Prince Hans who was focused on the spar, he didn't notice the Princess's expression. His earlier efforts of building his image in front of her crumbled in just a few seconds, and the perpetrator of this remains standing with a bland face.

"This time. You strike first." Prince Hans said with confidence in his tone, intending to start the fight with him parrying Leo's strike and ending it with a counter slash of his own.

Sensing the prince's intentions, Leo's face contorted into a short smirk that disappeared as soon as it arrived.

"I appreciate the gesture. Here I come then." With readiness in his posture, Prince Hans watched as Leo used his cane/weapon to start tapping on the ground, as if he was trying to find his location.

'Is he serious?' Just as Prince Hans lowered his guard, at the same time, Leo finally arrived in front of him.

With his guard being lowered against Leo, the aforementioned individually slowly raised his cane and slashed towards Prince Hans's way in a normal speeds.

'I was just surprised earlier, I guess.' Witnessing the speed, Prince Hans was glad that he was just surprised earlier and Leo managing to hit him square on the face earlier was just a fluke.

Raising his wooden sword with the intention of blocking the cane, both Prince Hans and Princess Anna watched as the cane slowly came in contact with the wooden sword.

'Right, this should be where I strike bac-.' Before Prince Hans could finish his thoughts, he suddenly realized the unstoppable momentum of the cane he just blocked.

Instead of stopping the cane by blocking it, the cane surprisingly continued its direction towards Prince Hans.

His arm slowly bending slightly as Prince Hans tightened his grip on the hilt, trying to stop the unstoppable force called Leo's Cane.

'W-What is even happening?' Soon, an awkward scene happened in the middle.

Leo's cane was pushing Prince Hans who was keeping his arms straight in front of him.

Due to being unstoppable, Prince Hans was being pushed back, the soles of his shoes skidding backwards.

At this point, even Leo was marching forward, his left arm holding the cane kept straight without any strain.

"Am I watching some kind of theatre play?" Anna mumbled to herself, confused at what she's watching.

She came here to watch a good spar between a Prince and the future Queen's personal bodyguard, but instead, she was watching what she refers to as comedy.

"I should be laughing by now."

***

"Where is he?" While the three of them were busy in the barracks, a soon to be Queen Princess was pacing around the castle with frustration on her face.

Earlier when her make up was finally finished, she was expecting to see Leo outside her door, instead she was met with nothing but the air and the wall.

Now, she's out here looking for her 'bodyguard'. She doesn't want to go down by herself without Leo, especially since she knows that someone out there has bad intentions against her.

She could protect herself but what about her reputation that her father painstakingly built brick by brick just so she could ascend to the throne without any complaints.

"Princess Elsa? The ceremony is about to start, should I come with you there?"

"Kai." Calling the name of her butler, Elsa sighed.

"Have you seen Leo?" She asked, hoping that Kai had seen him.

"Sir Leo? I think I saw him along with Princess Anna and a Prince from the Southern Isles. I remember their direction is towards the barracks. May I ask why you are looking for him? Should I go and fetch him myself?" Kai maintained his professionalism as the head butler and answered.

'What is he doing with Anna and a Prince of Southern Isles?' Unbeknownst to Elsa, a flash of jealousy appeared in her face which quickly disappeared.

"No need, I'll go to him myself. Don't worry, I'll arrive at the church with no problems and on time. I'll be very quick." Smiling to her butler, Elsa didn't wait for Kai to respond as she quickly grabbed the skirt of her gown and started running towards the back door of the castle, one where she and Anna always used to silently play in the garden when they used to be children.

***

Feeling the cold hard stone wall on his back, Prince Hans gulped his saliva out of fear, he has finally reached the end of the training ground and Leo doesn't look like he'd be stopping anytime soon.

Needing to save himself from this position, Prince Hans finally came to a decision.

Swiftly letting go of his sword, Prince Hans ducked on the ground and swept his leg towards Leo's.

Unfortunately for the prince, Leo's leg didn't even budge, as if Hans kicked a metallic wall instead of a human leg.

At the same time as Prince Hans kicked his legs and failed, the wooden sword that he let go of earlier was helped by the force called gravity, falling right into Prince Hans's head.

*Bam!*

"You might have a better chance kicking a tree's root than my legs." Leo sneered, raising his hand and shoved the butt of his cane into Prince Hans's mouth.

"Glurrgh!?" Surprised and scared, Prince Hans's eyes widened in fear as he felt the cane push more to his throat.

Before he could cry out for help or at least resist, a loud slamming of the door was heard followed by a worn out shout.

"Stop this instant!" Soon, everyone's attention turned to the front door where none other than the ice princess stands with an exhausted face, sweat glistening on her cheeks and forehead.

"Leo! What are you doing?" Elsa glared at Leo, however she just looks like she's sleepy considering the exhaustion plastered in her face.

"Princess! Or should I say Queen?" Leo cast a teasing smile, the cane on his hand still inside Prince Hans's mouth.

He kind of enjoyed watching the prince suffer considering his earlier arrogance and what he did in the movies.

"Leo....not yet a Queen and can you please remove your cane on this.....man's mouth?" Elsa rubbed her forehead and asked with a sigh.

"Since you asked nicely...." Heeding her words, Leo removed the cane from Hans's mouth before walking towards Elsa.

"Come with me, the ceremony is almost starting! I want you to be there with me."

"Oh really?" Leo flashed a teasing look towards Elsa, who blushed after realizing the misunderstanding meaning of her words.

"T-That's not what I meant! You know what, just come with me!" Without waiting for Leo to respond, Elsa grabbed Leo's hand and rushed outside.

"Hey guys! Wait for me!" Seeing their sweet interaction, Anna pouted out of jealousy, she also wanted to have someone, especially a man to treat her like this.

Sprinting outside to follow the two, Prince Hans was left by himself who started at the scene with disbelief written all across his face.

"W-what did I do to deserve this?"
