Mark of the Multiversal Pretender

Ch. 85 – During the Happening!

"Dad! Mom!" Calling out to their parent's attention, Anna's yell was successful as Iduna and Agnarr shifted their attention to the two sisters.

"Anna, Elsa." Smiling, Iduna was the first to reach out to them as she engulfed them in a hug.

Behind them, Agnarr could only pat their heads, it would be quite embarrassing for a man, much more a former King like him to show affection to his family in public.

In this world, men are expected to be physically manly, hugging and showing affection in public would only tarnish his 'manliness'.

"Elsa. Just remember, I am so proud of you. You too Anna, I've always been proud of both of you."

"Why does it sound like you're gonna die, dad." Anna chuckled, making a joke which made Elsa and Iduna and sigh at Anna's bluntness.

Meanwhile, Agnarr just laughed it off like a man.

"Hahaha! I won't be dying anytime soon, Anna. At least not yet until I see you both grow up, and meet my grandchildren!" Hearing Agnarr's words made Anna and Elsa blush.

"Dad!" Both sisters shouted at their father in sync, before pouting.

"Hahah-" Laughing once again, Agnarr was suddenly interrupted by a voice from a distance.

"Agnarr my friend!" Turning his face, Agnarr's previously happy face turned sour.

"Oh, it's you again, King Khan. How many I help you?" With a stoic face, Agnarr replied to the energetic King.

"It's nothing! I just saw Pri- Queen Elsa here and thought I should go and say hello, am I right?" King Khan smiled and now that he brought up Elsa, King Khan shifted his head towards Elsa, his expression turning into greed.

"Queen Elsa! It's so nice to finally meet you! Let me introduce myself to you! I am King Khan of AppleBum Kingdom!"

"Apple what?" Anna's face turned into disgust upon hearing the unsightly name, however put of respect, she retracted the expression.

"Yes, it is a very good name that I take pride on!" King Khan raised his chest out in pride, oblivious to the look that Anna just gave him.

"W-well, thank you?" Elsa seems to be unsure of her answer, though at least she has something to say rather than none.

"You're welcome! Now that you are a Queen, may I invite you to my son's birthday! He's the heir prince of AppleBum kingdom!" King Khan then went closer to Elsa and whispered, as if his son being the heir prince would increase the chances of Elsa accepting.

"....My schedule is a bit tight, I'll try to see what I can do." Elsa profesionally answered, thanks to his education from her parents, one thing that Elsa truly learned is how to perfectly make excuses without offending the other party.

Beside her, both Agnarr and Iduna puffed up their chests in pride.

"...O-of course! I'll wait for your answer!" Hearing the familiar answer that he used to use whnever he wants to reject someone's invitation, King Khan never expected to receive the same treatment.

After bidding the King farewell, many guests, especially royal ones started flood then, all asking either for Elsa's opinion on some matter or an invitation to their respective kingdoms.

Thankfully, Elsa was educated enough and managed to politely refused some of the questions and invitations, fortunately, before it could overwhelm, she was finally pulled from the abyss by none other than his father.

"You did good, Elsa. When you encounter those kinds of people, you shoul-." Before Agnarr could finish his sentence as he was giving an advice to Elsa, a loud gun shot was suddenly heard across the entire ballroom.

*Bang!*

"What was that?!" Attracted by the sound, everyone's busy heads turned as quick as they could towards the entrance where they heard the sound.

*Bam!*

"Everyone's hands in the air! Nobody moves!" Barging through the front doors, two fallen knights were thrown inside, followed by robed men with evil grins, each of them holding the Fisk Industries's colt handguns, each costing hundreds of golds, something a mere group of bandits shouldn't be able to afford.

"Bandits?! How can bandits get here!? Knights!" Soon, panic ensued among the guests, especially the royal ones, who not only had large values worth, and also had heard of the bandit's terrors across the world.

"Where are the knights?!" As everyone was panicking, Agnarr quickly pushed his daughters and wife behind him, intending to protect them using his own body.

"Get behind me!" Quickly grabbing a secret dagger from his boots, Agnarr secretly hid it inside his sleeves, his eyes darting all over the ballroom, searching for any gaps to the exit, planning to take advantage of the chaos that is happening.

"Where are the knights guards?!"

"Shut up! Or I will shoot!" Hearing the threat and the barrel on his face, the previous arrogant King Khan zipped his mouth like a dog following the order of his owner.

The bandit chuckled, liking the power over the arrogant royals on his hands.

He's like a God!

He feels like a God!

No, that's not the right word.

He is the God!

"Good boy! Now go on that corner over there!" Grinning like a mad man, the bandit ordered the King, which the aforementioned individual heeded without any complaints.

"Hehe good!" The bandit then licked his lips, at the same time, a recognizable figure walked through the broken doors, his cross shaped scar being very distinctive on his face.

"....Bandit King, Argon." Among the guests, a few people quickly recognized the scar, the bandit king's signature.

"Wow. Even though I rarely appear nowadays, some people still recognize me? I'm impressed." Argon chuckled, his eyes scanning across the crowd before finally stopping at Agnarr's group.

"Found ya." The bandit king muttered to himself before striding towards the family, his steps echoing across the room.

"Behind me!" Seeing that the man has come for them, Agnarr's face turned grim, he quickly clenched the hilt of the small dagger he hid on his sleeves, preparing to sneak attack for the sake of saving his family.

"You." Grabbing two of his colt hand gun, Argon pointed them at Elsa, the bandit king then continued.

"I suggest you move over, don't want to accidentally shoot you."

"....No." Hearing what the man just said, Elsa suddenly had a bad premonition, and so she refused.

"Elsa..." Behind her, Anna muttered to her in worry, she was worried that the bandit king would kill Elsa instead.

"....Fine, suit yourself then." Argon shrugged his shoulders before pointing his gun at Anna and pulled the trigger.

"No!" Widening her eyes out of fear, Elsa quickly pushed Anna aside, before extending her hand and shot an icy blast that not only froze the bullet but also built a wall barrier that separated the two groups against each other.

A series of gasps echoed across the room, King Khan and the Duke of Southern Isles all muttered together in sync.

"What kind of sorcery is this?"

"Elsa..." Anna muttered, looking at Elsa in confusion, as if the Elsa right now isn't the Elsa that she used to know.

Even Argon, who has seen and experienced many things in life, was also shocked and didn't expect the outcome.

"Neil didn't tell us about this." Argon muttered to himself before clicking his tongue.

"Screw it, boys, kill everyone here! We're going to empty the entire place!" Shouting an order, each and every bandit in the place raised their handguns and pointed them at the guests.

"No!" Now that the cat is out of the bag, Elsa knows there's no point in holding back, so with precise control over her powers, Elsa produces several icicles that she throws towards each bandit, penetrating them in their shoulders.

"Graggh!" Surprised by the icicles, the bandits dropped their colt guns and fell on the ground as they clenched their wounded shoulders, their faces showing extreme pain.

"Useless idiots!" Uttering under his breath, Argon wasted no time as he lits a dynamite that he secretly took out of his pouch.

*Tisssss*

Attracted by the hissing sound, Elsa shifted her attention back towards Argon, however it was already too late as the dynamite was already flying towards her direction.

Surprised, Elsa could only protect herself and her family by creating another ice barrier in front of her.

What she failed to notice however, was the durability of the ice that she just created. Due to the element of surprise, Elsa could only create an ice barrier within a short frame of time, making it less durable than the ices she normally produces.

At the same time, Argon took advantage of this to escape, so he quickly turns around to run.

*Boom!*

Within a single second, the entire ballroom shook due to the explosion.

The ice barrier that Elsa created to protect herself was nowhere to be seen except for a few ice marks on the ground.

Opening her eyes, Elsa saw that she was still intact, before sighing in relief.

"Elsa!" Hearing her name being called by her sister, Elsa turned around, only for her blood to turn cold along with the blood on her face being drained.

There lies Agnarr's body, a large ice protrudes on his right chest, the former king tries to fight back the pain as he coughs up blood.

Both Anna and Iduna crouches beside Agnarr, as Elsa slowly steps back.

"E-Elsa, what have you done?" Anna's voice quivered, her eyes blinking rapidly, trying to stop her tears from streaming down as her faces slowly turned to Elsa.

Elsa then saw something that she'll never forget throughout her entire life.

Rage and Fear was plastered over Anna's face.

Elsa doesn't need to register who Anna is angry at, as Elsa assumed it was pointed towards her.

Without saying anything else, Elsa quickly turned around and ran. Slamming the back doors open as she kept running and running, never looking back.

In her eyes was the body of her father, his chest stabbed with a large icicle that came from the ice barrier that exploded.

"No. No please don't be real.....Leo. Leo where are you?"
