“Oops! I Prepped for the Apocalypse and Became a Zombie”

Chapter 8: Spatial Ability

If they let headquarters take over, they'd get at most a few points. As supplies become scarcer in the future, prices will likely skyrocket, and those points won't be enough.

"Should we contact Jiang An'an from Team B? To be honest, I really don't want to see that woman, but her mutation is also spatial, and it's said to be very large. Although we'd have to give her 50% if we store things with her, at least we'd still have 50%. If we give it to headquarters, we'd only get points."

It wasn't that they were disloyal, but mainly because headquarters was in chaos now, with various factions scrambling to hoard supplies. If they didn't keep some for themselves, life would be tough later. No one wanted to work on an empty stomach in the future.

Chen Xiaofei was really troubled, but after he finished speaking, his eyes fell on Xu Duoduo, and suddenly lit up. He immediately greeted her politely: "Hello, little class monitor, we meet again. As expected of the little class monitor, you're extraordinary even as a zombie. Truly the prettiest zombie pup!"

As he spoke, he winked at Xu Duoduo and gave her a thumbs up.

Xu Duoduo: ...

Seeing her awkward expression, Qin Luo burst out laughing, "She's disgusted with you, haha."

This little thing was too interesting.

Chen Xiaofei also scratched his head, "Oh my, how embarrassing."

They had so much drama.

Xu Duoduo watched, dumbfounded. Meanwhile, Bai Shu had also returned, "There are three warehouses for canned food, two for meat, one for fruit."

He habitually tried to push up his glasses, but pushed at nothing, and finally seemed to remember he didn't need them anymore, giving a self-deprecating smile.

Bai Shu used to wear glasses, a well-behaved good student. Now he didn't need them; his mutation was in his eyes. It seemed useless, but combined with his role as a sniper, it was strangely very suitable for him.

"Let's go take a look at how much there is and think about how to handle it."

Qin Luo carried Xu Duoduo as if she weighed nothing, sometimes holding her, sometimes tucking her under his arm, sometimes slinging her over his shoulder, like a casual accessory.

Chen Xiaofei immediately bounced along, "Qin-ge, can't the little class monitor walk on her own? You're always carrying her. Why don't you put her down and let her take a few steps? I want to see if there's any difference in how she walks compared to other zombies."

Other zombies walked with a swaying, dragging gait, occasionally glancing at people with bloodlust, lunging at them in a rush.

How could the little class monitor be like this? Obediently clinging to their Qin-ge's neck.

Her face was snow-white, but her whole body was clean, still wearing cute pink bunny pajamas.

Qin Luo took large strides while glancing down at Xu Duoduo, who was looking around curiously. He wasn't sure if it was his imagination, but her neck seemed more flexible, "Who knows? Let's put her down later and see how she walks."

For now, let's just keep moving.

Bai Shu, watching Qin Luo carry the little class monitor like a doll, suddenly teased, "That's right, I see someone cherishing her like he can't bear to let go. The little class monitor really doesn't need to walk, you can just keep carrying her."

Qin Luo's ears visibly turned red, and he told Bai Shu to shut up.

Chen Xiaofei immediately snickered, lowering his head to hide his laughter, "Qin-ge's skin is too thin."

As they bantered, they arrived at the large warehouse. Jokes aside, when it came to serious matters, the three of them became completely serious. Chen Xiaofei stood guard, Bai Shu opened the door, and Qin Luo went straight inside, with the other two following.

The warehouse was at least several hundred square meters, with stacks of canned goods, all in whole boxes.

"There's really quite a lot."

Qin Luo took a look. There was so much that indeed only a spatial ability user could store it all. But according to predictions from future ability users, there would be fewer than 1,000 spatial ability users worldwide in the later stages.

You can imagine how precious this ability is.

Their country's top spatial ability user, codenamed Taotie, was currently known as the strongest spatial ability user, and his space could even be divided.

Each of the four of them had a storage space card embedded in their wristbands. As the team leader, Qin Luo's was 180 cubic meters.

Wang Weihu, Bai Shu, and Chen Xiaofei each had 100 cubic meters of storage space.

But they had to store weapons and some food, making it difficult to hoard too many things.

The storage space cards were independent spaces separated by Taotie, but these weren't secret. He could know everything they stored.

It was also a measure by headquarters to prevent their betrayal; the amount of stored items was transparent.

However, these storage space cards were currently very rare. If it weren't for their Special Operations Team being so strong, and Captain Qin Luo having developed lightning storm abilities, their small team might not have gotten these four storage space cards.

Chen Xiaofei really disliked Jiang An'an. He sighed, "So many canned goods, my goodness. If only they were all ours. Why don't we have a spatial teammate?! Future supplies will dwindle with each use. Just thinking about having to eat nutrient solutions in the future, as mentioned in the survival manual, makes me feel awful, wah."

He was almost growing mushrooms from depression, crying alone while staring at the mountain of canned goods.

Bai Shu also pondered for a long time, "This factory area has relatively low contamination. As supplies become scarcer in the future, I suggest we keep as much as we can."

Qin Luo was also thinking. If they reported it, with headquarters in such chaos now, it might be intercepted and privately hoarded by other opportunists. It might be better to keep it in their own hands.

Xu Duoduo's thinking ability was slower now, processing some information with a delay, but she understood the current situation from their conversation. She also knew that to continue existing, she needed to have some value.

For example, her current difference from ordinary zombies was the reason she was allowed to survive. If she had been like other zombies wanting to bite people, Qin Luo would probably have eliminated her with a shot back in the residential area.

How could she be treated so well as to be held in someone's arms?

So Xu Duoduo patted Qin Luo and pointed towards the pile of canned goods, "Ah woo ah woo."

As soon as she opened her mouth, she heard her own gibberish, so she promptly closed it again.

Chen Xiaofei noticed her first and immediately exclaimed in surprise, "Whoa, Qin-ge, the little class monitor spoke! My goodness, her call is so cute! Ouch!"

Bai Shu directly slapped Chen Xiaofei's head, "How dare you call the little class monitor cute?!"

Qin Luo indicated he didn't want to communicate with these two idiots. He looked down at the little thing in his arms, "What are you doing? Go to the canned goods? Can you still eat canned food?"

He was also very shocked.

Xu Duoduo had a face full of exasperation. How could these people's thought processes still be so peculiar?!

She persisted in patting and indicating Qin Luo to walk over there. Qin Luo had no choice but to comply, "What exactly do you want to do?"

He had never heard of zombies being interested in canned goods. Until the next second when Xu Duoduo's finger touched the cans, and the entire row of canned goods disappeared.

...

Silence.

Suddenly, it fell quiet.

The next second, all three of them exclaimed "Holy shit!" in unison, their faces full of shock.
