[ Pokemon Indigo League ]

The pokemon league headquarters was a massive complex of interconnected buildings, sprawling over acres of land. The main entrance was a grand archway, with a massive statue of Pikachu standing proudly in the center.

At the top of the pokemon league headquarters, the air was crisp and cool, and the view was breathtaking. From the rooftop terrace, visitors could see for miles in every direction, taking in the stunning natural beauty of the region below. The rooftop was also home to a massive helipad, where league officials could land their private aircraft.

Inside the conference room, the mood was tense as the Elite Four members and gym leaders gathered together to discuss the latest crisis facing the region. The room was massive, with a long conference table stretching nearly the entire length of the space. The walls were adorned with banners and flags representing the various cities and towns of the region, and the air was thick with the scent of freshly brewed coffee.

At the head of the table sat Mr. Goodshow, the president of the pokemon league, looking stern and serious. To his left sat Lance, the champion of the Pokemon league, and to his right sat a delegation of high-ranking league officials from the head of the police department.

The Elite Four members and gym leaders were scattered throughout the rest of the room, each in their seats and deep in thought.

"Lance, what is this matter of importance that you have called upon everyone ?" Bruno asked with a gruff.

" Ahm, Giovanni and Erika are missing." Someone tried to chimp in as Bruno glanced at Daisy Waterflower who sank back into her seat trying to avoid the martial master's gaze.

" Don't scare the young woman, you dumb brute," Agatha exclaimed as Bruno huffed.

" Erika has been suspended as the Gym Leader of Celadon City due to public outrage on her competency when she was kidnapped," Mr. Goodshow, the Pokemon president, exclaimed as everyone nodded," And as for Giovanni, he wasn't invited because of Lance."

The entire Elite Four and Gym Leaders roster turned to glance at Lance who remained indifferent.

" Would you clarify your actions, Lance ?" Lorelei asked while pushing her glasses up.

Lance took a deep breath," Before we begin, I would like you all to pay attention to this video."

Lance exclaimed while pushing a button the light turned off as the screen at the front of the room flickered to life, casting an eerie glow over the attendees. As the video began to play, it showed an old, run-down building that looked like it had been abandoned for years. The camera angle shifted, and a handsome black-haired man stepped into view, a lit cigarette dangling from his lips.

He adjusted the camera, turning it slightly to the left before looking directly into the lens.

The conference room could hear a muffled conversation happening behind the camera, but it was difficult to make out what was being said.

The man took a long drag from his cigarette before exhaling a plume of smoke into the air.

" Lance, what is this video about ?" Bruno questioned.

" Who is this ?" Blaine asked twirling his mustache.

" He's handsome." Daisy Waterflower whispered to her sisters who agreed.

" Is this someone I should know about ?" Flint asked.

" Hmm," Agatha's eyes narrowed the movement beneath the man's shadow.

'Looks like you are dead set on your revenge, Ketchum.'

The sound of the man's artificial voice filled the room, instantly capturing the attention of everyone present. The attendees exchanged glances, their expressions a mix of curiosity and skepticism. Mr. Goodshow leaned forward in his seat, his gaze fixed on the screen as the man introduced himself.

[ My name is of no importance, but if you want to call me something, call me Uchiha Bob.]

Austin attempted to maintain a serious expression but couldn't suppress a sudden burst of laughter, causing the room to fill with confusion. The screen flickered momentarily before the video resumed.

[ My apologies for that. I was a member of Team Rocket. I am here to reveal their plan to attack Kanto.]

Gasps echoed throughout the room, and Lance, the stoic Champion, leaned forward, his piercing gaze fixed on the screen. Lorelei raised an eyebrow in skepticism, her mind racing with questions.

[ Team Rocket has been planning this attack for months under the guidance of the Minister of Finance, Lionel Giovanni. Our target is the entire Kanto region, and we plan to launch the attack on April 15th.]

Lorelei's skepticism slowly turned to concern as Austin detailed the scale and magnitude of Team Rocket's plans. She exchanged a glance with Bruno who was deep in thought, contemplating the implications of this revelation.

[Team Rocket has been gathering resources and manpower from all over the Kanto and Johto regions, recruiting trainers and having them wield cannibalistic Pokémon. The number of trainers and Pokémon involved ranges in the thousands for each minor town, while major cities see the numbers skyrocket to tens of thousands.]

Daisy Waterflower gasped audibly, her eyes widening in disbelief at the sheer magnitude of the impending threat. Surge furrowed his brow, his mind already strategizing potential countermeasures as everything about this reminded him of the war with Team Cypher.

'If only you were here, Red. We need you back. Kanto needs you back.'

[Their goal is to take over Kanto and subsequently Johto, establishing a new regime over the Japanese continent: the Team Rocket Regime. The primary target of their attack is the city of Saffron.]

As Austin revealed the true extent of Giovanni's ambitions, Flint clenched his fists, his anger evident. Meanwhile, Bruno's gruff voice broke the momentary silence.

"How can we be sure this isn't some elaborate ruse?" Bruno questioned, his tone filled with skepticism.

"This is a video, Mr. Bruno." Lily Waterflower stated and received a grunt from Bruno.

Austin's voice continued his words hanging heavily in the air.

[Giovanni plans to attack the Silph Co. headquarters and take control of their technology to create a way to control Mewtwo. With Mewtwo's power, the Kanto and Johto Pokémon Leagues are nothing but nuisances for Team Rocket.]

Lorelei who had been silent until now, leaned forward, her eyes shimmering with concern and fear. She addressed Lance directly, her voice trying to be steady and firm but she was afraid.

"Lance, if this is true, we need to take immediate action. The safety of our regions, the lives of innocent trainers, and Pokémon hang in the balance."

Lance nodded, his face impassive but his eyes reflecting a sense of urgency. He knew the threat of Mewtwo firsthand, and he would not take it lightly.

Austin's voice trailed off, and the room fell into a profound silence. The attendees exchanged glances, their minds racing with questions and strategies. This revelation marked the beginning of a dangerous battle against a formidable enemy. The Pokémon League members knew they had to act swiftly to protect the region they held dear.

[ Oh, and for the record, this is a live call! ]

[ Omake Paragraph ]

A Phanpy's enormous ears are natural fans that are used to not only cool wild Phanpy but their entire herds, Donphan and Phanpy alike. Indeed, Donphan, with their thick armor and heavy, narrow ears, must reproduce or form groups with other Donphan's Phanpy to regulate their body temperature. Humans have also caught on to the value of Phanpy, and in warm climates, they are often preferred for cooling to even ice and water-type Pokemon.

Despite these ears producing a fairly strong breeze, Phanpy does not flap them at a high enough speed to use flying attacks such as Gust and Hurricane. It was once thought by science that this was because their ears did not allow for such movement; certainly, it would use such an attack to defeat the often dangerous grass-type Pokemon they eat if they could! Recent anatomical research on Phanpy, however, suggests that Phanpy indeed have this ability, but refuse to use it, likely because they fear blowing their prey too far away.

Tradition ascribes another reason for Phanpy's reluctance to use Gust. Phanpy are ground-type Pokemon but know few ground-type attacks. Because of this, they find their connection to the ground tenuous and fear that if they get picked up by too strong a wind, their ears will carry them like a Hoppip across the skies. Today, this theory is usually thought of as an old superstition, but there is a tempting logic to it: if their artificial orange pads are removed, Phanpy ears look remarkably like Lugia or Swanna wings.
