Refusing My God’s Advances

Chapter 120: Advancing in the Cavern

As I opened my eyes, I found Shelli and my golem girls looking at me with worried expressions. I looked down at my hand and raised up the drill. As I did, Lila pointed to it.

"Where did you get that?" She asked, and I shorted and I stood up.

"From an extremely untrustworthy worthy source," I said, and it disappeared into my inventory.

I turned to find Shelli giving me a complicated look.

"What did you have to do to get that? Garland didn't try to kill you again, did he?" She asked, and that made me laugh.

"No, I just have to stay out of the North and East during the war. I am sure that he had something nasty planned, but the bastard always seems to have something I want," I sighed, and then looked at the girls. "Are you three ready to take on the next room?"

The three golems nodded, and I waved them forward as Shelli and I followed.

"Is it really okay to make a deal like that?" Shelli asked as we passed through the minotaur cave, and I shrugged.

"I hadn't planned on pushing deeper into the place anyways, and the drill wasn't the only part of the deal, or I wouldn't have taken it," I explained, and Shelli raised an eyebrow.

"What else?" Shelli asked, and I explained about my deal for the protection of our floating island, Emberfall, during the war.

"I think that it is a fair trade. Also, if he messes around, and tries to take someone behind enemy lines, I will send Mary and or Aria to raise some hell. I think they probably just have some kind of secret weapon that isn't ready yet. They might not even have it ready by the time the war is over, who knows," I said as we entered the next tunnel.

The crystals lining the walls had now become red, so I assumed that the next round of monsters would be fire-based, but when we reached the cave, there was a large beast in the center of it with blackish purple hair covering its body. I targeted it with Identify, but nothing happened.

"Shelli, do you know what that thing is?" I asked, and she nodded her head with a bit of a worried look.

"That is an Epic Rated Abyssant Voidling. They are highly resistant to all forms of magic, and can also use gravity magic. I suggest that you be careful with this one. I didn't expect there to be an epic-rated monster so soon, and this one is exceptionally strong," Shelli explained, and I looked at Lila, who seemed itching to fight.

"What do you think about this?" I asked, and then added, "You use your fists, and I also prefer to just use weapons or my fists but this thing looks tough."

"I am more worried about the spell slingers. Those other two are going to have a hard time with things," Lila said, pointing at the nervous-looking sisters.

That was a problem. Though, if we could use the same tactic as last time, but with my help this time, it might work. "Can you just throw them again?" I asked, and the sister's both let out squeaks, but Lila shook her head.

"This thing will use Gravity magic to slow us down. If I try throwing them, the beast will just increase the gravity. It might be best if they sit this one out," Lila advised, and then sister let out a sigh of relief.

"Do you think that we can take them alone? I asked, and Lila shrugged.

"If you were a bit stronger, then we would have no problem," She said, and I opened my stats.

"What am I lacking in?" I asked and she frowned at me.

"Speed, and strength, but I think your resilience needs the most work. If for anything, so you can handle the massive change your body is about to go through," Lila explained, and I nodded, opening up my Stat Menu.

"These are my stats, but I wish I could see the creature's stats, or at least your stats to be able to compare them," I said as everyone crowded around me, then added, "The Stat Points are bonus points I can add to any stat," I explained, and Lila nodded as she tapped a finger to her lip.

"If this represents your ability, then I think you should put at least 400 points into Resilience, and divide the other points in your strength and speed. Your magic and knowledge-based stats are very high, but that makes sense since you were able to create me," Lila explained, and I did as she said.

"This feels a bit better," Lila said, patting my arm. "But it is still going to be a good, hard, and long fight. A good one for our first battle together, right Master? You will be able to see me in my full fighting form!"

I smiled at Lila's excitement, but I was still a bit nervous. I could feel that there was still some distance between my strength and the Abyssant Voidling. Still, with Lila, we should have a chance, and I had to keep pushing if I wanted to push past 100.

"Okay, I think I am ready," I said, rolling my shoulders and hopping a little bit as I shook my hands.

"Barehanded?" Shelli asked, and I laughed, as my Drill of the Abyss appeared in my hand.

"No way, José! I am going to test this bad boy out!" I laughed, and marched to the edge of the cave, stopping just before the entrance.

I still had a nervous feeling, but Shelli could save us if needed.

"Are you ready, master?" Lila asked, and I nodded, both of us stepping into the cave.
