Refusing My God’s Advances

Chapter 122: Evolving Agony and Excitement

She dashed forward, engaging the Abyssant Voidling in a dance of fists and kicks. Meanwhile, I focused on the beast.

I took in all of its movements, while also absorbing Lila's as well. Each second that I observed became less chaotic. Slowly, a pattern started to emerge in the creature's attack. I calculated the cooldowns on each of the more intense-looking attacks that looked like skills. I even studied how the hair reacted when Lila got close.

All of it seeped into me, and as it did, the battle became so slow that I began pick apart mistakes on both sides of the fight. I soon walked over, adjusted Lila's stance, and helped tuck her shoulder in as she drew back. I twisted her body slightly as she sprang forward to hit the Abyssant Voidling. Then, at the last second, backhanded the creature.

I had realized almost too late that the motion and force I helped supply were too great for her constructed body. I was forced to deal with the creature myself rather than give my partner the victory.

Suddenly, time snapped back, and my accelerated brain cooled back down to moderately intelligent. Lila was smiling from ear to ear in my arms, and when I looked up, I winced when I saw the poor monster.

In my hyper-focused state, I had hit the monster so hard that it crashed into the cave wall, creating a sizable dent. The Abyssant Voidling struggled to get back on its feet, clearly disoriented and weakened.

"That was impressive, Master!" Lila exclaimed, her eyes shining with admiration.

"Yeah, I guess I got a bit carried away there," I admitted, scratching my head.

The Abyssant Voidling, now enraged, unleashed another wave of gravity magic. However, this time, I felt less affected by it. It seemed that being slammed into the wall had taken a toll on its magical capabilities.

The monster tried to start rushing me, but with my senses tuned, I was at it in an instant.

I landed seven Material strikes, the last one not getting anything, and then I rained down a hail of fists until the creature stopped moving.

Time snapped back, but Shelli caught me as a stream of notifications filled my view. All the energy was snapped from my body and pain started to rip through me. If the shits were bad, this was worse.

My entire body seemed to eat itself as I contracted all my muscles. My eyes bulged, but no matter how exhausted I was, the pain kept me awake.

The girls all surrounded me and encircled me, but only Shelli touched me. That was the only thing that I could hold on to during the tearing of my entire body. Her touch kept me sane as my muscles ripped apart, and then grew back together at unnatural speeds.

The pain was excruciating as my body underwent a transformation. Every fiber of my being felt like it was being torn apart and reconstructed. Waves of agony surged through me, and I clenched my teeth to suppress the screams threatening to escape.

Shelli held onto me, her touch a grounding force amidst the chaotic storm of pain. Her eyes reflected concern, and I could see the worry etched on the faces of the golem girls.

"Lila, Aria, Mary, stay back. Let Master go through this," Shelli instructed, her voice steady despite the tension in the air.

I gritted my teeth, enduring the relentless assault on my body. It felt like an eternity, but in reality, only moments passed. As the pain reached its peak, my vision blurred, and I felt a surge of energy coursing through me.

Then, it suddenly stopped.

The pain vanished, leaving me breathless and disoriented. I gasped for air, my body drenched in sweat. Shelli continued to support me, her concern shifting to relief.

"Leon, are you alright?" she asked, her eyes searching mine "Your body should be done changing now, but 9 levels at once before a class change is not something anyone has ever gone through."

I took a deep breath, feeling the changes within me. The pain was gone, replaced by a newfound strength and vitality. I flexed my muscles experimentally, and a sense of power surged through my veins.

"I think... I think I'm okay," I replied, still catching my breath.

The golem girls cautiously approached, their eyes filled with a mix of curiosity and worry.

"Master, did something happen?" Cynthia asked, her expression concerned.

I stood up from Shelli's arms and stepped away from her for a moment to move my body. Everything about me felt different now, and I understood why I had gone through so much pain. My body was already past my standard of human limits, but reaching the first milestone of level 100 really hit me differently.

There were so many things that I wanted to check out with the stupid amount of notifications I got. Yet, part of me craved more now. It was like my body wanted more of this power.

"I finally hit close to Lila's rank," I laughed, but Lila just looked at me.

"Master, You killed that monster just by watching it. If I had known that all you needed was time, I could have bought you it. You were past my level before your screams of pain, but now, I am your student finally," Lila said and went down on one knee, then Cynthia and Isilda followed her.

I was pretty surprised by this reaction, but when I focused on each of the girls, I finally understood. I could now feel the difference in our powers. There was a large gap between me and the sisters, but still even a sizable gap between Lila now.

"You seem to be able to read the flow of the battle and absorb it. I couldn't follow how you did it, but I felt you were correcting my posture. Then, the beast was gone before I could hit it, but I instinctively knew that if my hand had connected, I would have done serious damage to myself. That is why you knocked it away, right?"

I nodded, realizing that my ability allowed me to perceive and anticipate the flow of battle on a different level. It wasn't just about raw power; it was about understanding the intricacies of combat, predicting movements, and making split-second decisions.

"That's right, I guess. It's like I can see the patterns of the fight and adjust accordingly. It's a bit overwhelming, but I am getting used to it," I explained.

Lila looked up at me with admiration, her eyes filled with a newfound respect. "Master, you truly are something else. I never thought I'd witness someone surpass my own capabilities in such a short amount of time. I'm honored to be your creation."

I chuckled, feeling a mix of pride and humility. "Well, let's not get too carried away. I still have a long way to go, and there's a lot more to discover about this power. But for now, let's focus on our journey through the Crystal Cavern."

The girls nodded, standing up from their kneeling positions. Shelli approached me, her eyes filled with concern. "Are you sure you're alright, Leon? That transformation seemed intense."

I gave her a reassuring smile. "I feel better than ever, Shelli. It's like I've leveled up in more ways than one. Let's continue exploring the cavern. We still have a long way to go."
