NOVEL SIMPLE Chapter 37: Midnight gets to stretch her legs
I was brought too in Midnight’s lap we where back home. Ada gave me a very distraught look as Ruby crawled onto me, her blood red pincers inches away from my face. Ruby let out a screech and Violet somehow slapped me with something. I shifted my gaze and saw I was slapped with a severed arm. I heard Yawn laughing as something was playing on the TV. I heard screaming and I instantly sat up startling Ruby. “Hey boss you should see this ohh” I turned to the TV and saw a familiar red centipede tearing a man’s throat out.
“I hope those guys were strong honey” Midnight pulled me back onto her lap.
“Those guys were my personal guard they should be capable of going toe to toe with Thor or at least Hulk in a contest of strength.” I started crying as Ruby crawled her way back onto me. Her compound eyes were probably trying to do a kitten stare.
‘Is dada mad we killed those weaklings’ Violet’s telepathic didn’t make me feel any better.
“No darling I’m not mad they died because they were weak it’s not your fault” Ruby helped Violet onto me.
“Our Violet is quite talkative isn’t she honey” I nodded at Midnight’s statement and then Ada coughed.
“Are we just going to ignore the fact that one of your children is a fucking centipede and the other knows perfect English.” Ruby hissed at Ada and I had to intervene Midnight picked up both Ruby and Violet and left the room with Yawn following suit. I paused the TV just as the video showed Ruby eating one of the mens guts.
“I’m guessing Red Queen got the Exo body-cam footage then?” I chuckled slightly and Ada just glared at me.
“Explain now, why is one of your kids a fucking huge centipede and why do they eat people?”
“Well both are easy to answer it’s because Midnight was originally a centipede that mutated” I couldn’t be bothered with bullshiting Ada. She probably would be able to tell if I was lying to her anyway.
“Midnight is a what?!” and just on cue Midnight appeared in centipede form. I clasped my hand over Ada’s mouth before she could scream but she didn’t.

“Will my baby end up like them?” Ada squeezed my hands tightly and looked me dead in the eye.
“No it won’t they are only like this because their mother is what she is.” I tried to comfort her as Ruby started chasing Zero.
“So will I give birth in a month like her or?” I shook my head.
“No you’ll give birth in five months and twelve days and viper will give birth in eight months and twelve days give or take”. Midnight looked at me and I smiled, Ada just sighed her hand rested on her stomach. “Don’t worry Ada our child will be normal I hope” I muttered the last part. Ruby had finally caught Zero but Zero just dived and fled straight into Violet’s waiting arms.
‘Bunny wabbit’ Violet giggled as she started to squeeze Zero.
Pov Jackson
Boss had ordered me to tail and murder some dumb ass human. ‘I don’t know why he couldn’t have that asian lady or that slut with the snake name deal with this ass.’ I didn’t sigh as I followed him from the walls of the alleyway. I hated my human form with a passion my cone of vision had reduced from three hundred and sixty degrees to a measly two hundred and seventy. My majestic horns shrunk till they were little stubs on my forehead and nose. My lovely green skin dulled slightly, the only befits of this form is that I could walk among these weaklings and I didn’t to take the sewers. Boss promised me and Yawn a nice long break after I snuffed the fedora wearing asshole.
There were differences between me and Yawn my eyes were brown and his eyes were green. He six foot eight, I was five foot six, his build was muscular my build was lanky. I braided Yawn’s black hair as it reached his shoulders my hair was extremely short in a military fashion and was green like my skin. A key difference tho was that Yawn had two dicks and never let me forget it especially in bed. I sighed as I shot my tongue towards the man just as he was about to exit the alley. I heard he scream slightly as my tongue dragged him to his death. The boss wanted me to leave his body and I was more than happy to oblige.
I quickly covered his mouth and sunk my knife into his chest. He thrashed slightly but he stopped as I twisted the knife several times. “At least now me and Yawn can have some private time, I just hope that dumb blind lawyer and his pig faced friend doesn’t interrupt us.” I recalled them introducing themselves to us just as we were transformed. They offered us a discount if we had any legal troubles I remembered Yawn wanting to murder them.
I quickly let go of the corpse so I didn’t get the blood on my clothes. I left and was nearly to the laundromat when I received a message from Yawn. It was a picture of his topless abs with the text “I’m at the Laundromat don’t keep me waiting”. I smiled as I put the hood of my hoodie up and began to run towards the laundromat.
